Using this online tool you can purchase or renew dog tags, update contact information, update dog information, or remove a dog that you no longer own. Even new owners can purchase tags.
Before you start, the following information will be needed to complete the license registration order:
- Registering as a current owner: You will need your dog license number, owner number or last name on the account. Refer to your renewal that you received by mail for reference. The following services are available to current owners:

Ordering new dog tags.

Ordering duplicate dog tags for dogs with current tags that have been lost.

Transferring ownership of a dog to another owner. The new owner must be a valid active owner and you will need their owner number. Click here if you do not have the owner number or if the owner that you are transferring to has never purchased tags in Lucas County before.
- Registering as a new owner: Follow the registration steps to create an account.
- Dog owner information including name, address, phone #, and email address for credit card information.
- Dog description including dog name, breed, age, gender, hair type, and hair colors.
- Credit card information including credit card type, number, expiration date, credit card owner name, address, and phone.
Please Note:
If your order has gone through you will receive a confirmation e-mail. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail the order has possibly not gone through. Please finish the order once it is started.
